Adelaide, SA — Ez Now and Ancient World are back together for the next instalment of the Ez Now party series. May-Hem lands on Saturday, May 9 with seven hours of bass music spanning dubstep, garage, grime, footwork, juke, jungle, and drum and bass. Doors at 8pm, free entry before 9pm, $15 on the door after that.
The lineup is a hand-picked selection of selectors covering every corner of the bass music spectrum: HyperFixate, Cra$h_Out, Doubtless v Duski, Gunda G, Fiction, Tinkerb9l, and Lottie B v LIS\N. Two back-to-back pairings in there too, which always adds an element of unpredictability — two selectors feeding off each other in real time, pushing and pulling the sound in directions neither would go alone.
The genre spread is the story here. Most nights in Adelaide pick a lane — techno night, DnB night, house night. Ez Now parties cover everything from 140bpm dubstep through to 170bpm jungle and DnB, with garage, grime, footwork, and juke filling in the gaps between. That kind of range only works when the selectors know how to read a room and manage the transitions, and the Ez Now crew have been building this formula across multiple instalments now.
Ancient World continues to be one of the most reliable rooms on Hindley Street for underground bass music. Dark, compact, and with a sound system that rewards anyone who puts low-end pressure first. For dubstep and jungle especially, a room this size means you feel every sub-bass hit physically. It’s not background music — it’s a full-body workout.
Free entry before 9pm is a smart play for a Saturday night. Get in early, settle in, and let the music build around you. Fifteen dollars after that is still cheap for seven hours of bass music across this many genres.
