Adelaide, SA — Five days out. Earlybird and general release are both gone. James Corbett and Violet Eve are bringing Athzira (Guatemala), LunaRave (France), and their collaborative project AlcheMystik to the Gala Room at The Austral this Friday, April 17 for a full-power psytrance night running 8pm to 3am. Final release tickets are $60 + $3 booking fee via Triniq — and that’s the last tier.
This is a three-acts-from-two-artists situation, which makes it unusual. Athzira is the live act project of Guatemalan producer Suseth Martinez — a fusion of psytrance and indigenous music from Central and South America, deeply rooted in Mayan culture. She’s been producing since 2014 and performing as Athzira since 2017, weaving ancestral sounds into modern electronic frameworks. Her 2022 album Athzira and the Travellers launched her own label, Ik-Tek Records, and she’s since released on Shamanic Tales Records — the label run by psytrance heavyweight Astrix — with a Celtic-meets-Mayan collaboration alongside French live band Trientale. She’s currently working on Athzira and the Gems, a collaborative album with female producers from around the world.
LunaRave has been building his universe since 2004 — cosmos, time travel, ancient symbols, epic storytelling. Two albums on Hadra Records, then in 2012 he co-founded the French psytrance label OVNI Records with Neokontrol, releasing his third album Transmigration in 2019. He’s currently working on album number four alongside side projects including AngrY LunA (hi-tech), Retro Future (epic trance), and Amp Swamp (darkpsy/forest with Dark Elf from Greece). His sets are built as journeys through time and space — cinematic, atmospheric, and deep.
Together they perform as AlcheMystik — a collaborative project that fuses both their sounds into something ritualistic and ceremonial. Getting all three acts in one room, in one night, at a venue the size of the Gala Room is a rare opportunity for Adelaide’s psytrance community.
Local support comes from James Corbett (United Beats Records), Violet Eve, Biggins, and Unison — all familiar names to anyone who’s been following Adelaide’s psy scene.
The Gala Room is an intimate space. This isn’t a festival stage — it’s a dark room with a proper sound system where you’ll be close enough to feel the bass in your teeth. For full-power psytrance, that’s exactly what you want.
