Adelaide, SA — Faze One presents Mindshift, a new night built around progressive house and techno at Nightshade on Solomon Street. Five DJs and an MC delivering a seamless musical journey from deep and melodic through to high-energy dancefloor pressure. Friday, June 5, from 7pm to 3am. Tickets via Humanitix.

The concept is in the name. Mindshift isn’t being pitched as just another club night — it’s framed as a space for people who come for the music first. That might sound like marketing speak, but the lineup and the format back it up. Five selectors building a continuous arc across the night, each set flowing into the next, moving the dancefloor through phases rather than restarting the energy every hour.

The lineup reads like a cross-section of Adelaide’s progressive and melodic scene. Bobby McKay, BOF, Matty B, Johnny Concept, and Lick’n Touch on the decks, with MC Shorty on the mic. Several of these names have been appearing on bills across Adelaide’s underground scene over the past few months — BOF and Matty B were both on the Dance Floor Heretics eXPEDITIONS lineup, Bobby McKay played Sub Frequency — so there’s a sense of a cohort coming together under Faze One’s banner.

Nightshade on Solomon Street is a relatively fresh addition to Adelaide’s venue roster for electronic music. Positioning a progressive house and techno night there gives it its own identity separate from the Hindley Street corridor that dominates so much of the city’s underground programming. A 7pm start on a Friday also means you can head straight from work, ease into the early sets while the music is deep and melodic, and stay as the energy ramps up across eight hours into the small hours.

Faze One is building something here. Mindshift has the feel of a first instalment rather than a one-off — the kind of night that, if the crowd responds, becomes a regular fixture. For Adelaide’s progressive house and techno heads, that’s a space worth supporting from the jump.
