Adelaide, SA — Simply Techno steps up to Electric Circus for the launch of Club Sessions — a residents-and-guests format with no announced headliner, no presale tickets, and no online ticketing. This is a deliberate choice. No lineup announcement. No individual names on the poster. Just “Simply Techno resident DJs + guest selectors.” In a scene where every event leads with its biggest name in the biggest font, Club Sessions strips all of that away and says: trust the brand. Trust the curation. Come for the sound, not the billing.
It’s a bold move, and it only works if your audience already knows what you deliver. Simply Techno has been building that trust through 2026 — the EastBlock Grooves collaboration with Bassline Market during Fringe, the residents-only Laneway Take Over at The Austral in March, and the Tales of Techno co-promotion with Front Room and Dance Floor Heretics. Each event proved the crew can programme a night that holds from open to close. Club Sessions is the next step: taking that consistency to a bigger room and letting it speak for itself.
Electric Circus on Crippen Place is becoming a venue of choice for Adelaide’s techno crews looking to scale up — Doof Techno and Front Room have their Kaufmann show there in October. For Simply Techno, it’s a significant upgrade from the Austral Laneway. The sound system, the lighting, and the room itself are built for the kind of deep, hypnotic, driving techno that Simply Techno’s residents deal in.
The door-sales-only model is interesting. No Humanitix link, no Ticket Fairy, no Eventbrite. You show up, you pay at the door, you’re in. It lowers the barrier (no booking fees, no advance commitment) while creating a different kind of energy — the crowd is self-selecting in real time, not pre-committed weeks in advance. Drink specials from 9 to 11pm reward the early arrivals, and the $15/$25 tiered pricing does the same.
