Julian “Jules” Dangov — known to Adelaide’s electronic music community simply as Patch — is one of Australia’s most respected drum and bass DJs, a four-time South Australian Dance Music Award winner, and the driving force behind the city’s long-running Sauce Music Events and Rollerz radio programme.
Based in Highbury, South Australia, Patch has been a fixture of Adelaide’s bass music scene for over two decades. His reputation was cemented early: he took home the Most Popular Drum & Bass DJ award at the SA Dance Music Awards four consecutive years running (2003–2006) and ranked among the top five South Australian DJs in the national inthemix poll in both 2005 and 2006 — one of only two DnB selectors listed nationwide.
His reach extends well beyond Adelaide. Sets at Melbourne’s Revolver and Brown Alley, Perth’s Swan Barracks, Hobart’s Halo, Friction’s Shogun Audio night in Brighton, and sessions in Budapest and Bali have built him an international following. A slot on the Nokia Terminal 9 national tour and appearances at Falls Festival further broadened his audience.
As a producer, Patch’s track “Inhale” appeared on the inaugural Big Dog Records release alongside the Adelaide anthem “Can’t Resist You.” His mixes — archived across Adelaide Massive, Mixcloud, and the Kongkretebass Kongkast series — document a selector equally at home in liquid rollers, techstep, and classic jungle.
Today, Patch runs the Sauce Icons event series, bringing heavyweight international acts like Ray Keith, DJ Flight, Mampi Swift, DJ Trace, and Zero T to Adelaide stages. He continues to host Rollerz, now streaming on Twitch via the Dance Floor Heretics platform after years on Fresh 92.7 FM, and remains a familiar name on lineups at venues across Rundle Street and beyond. In Adelaide drum and bass, Patch is the constant.
