Dance Floor Heretics and Faze One throw a free two-room Xmas in July party at Cosmos Club

Adelaide, SA — Dance Floor Heretics and Faze One team up for Xmas in July — a free, two-room house and techno party at Cosmos Club on Waymouth Street. Ten DJs across a Techno Room and a House & Progressive Room, six hours of music, and entry doesn’t cost a cent. Saturday, July 25, from 8pm to 2am. The only catch: you need to register for a free ticket at dancefloorheretics.com before the night.

The two-room split is clean. Dance Floor Heretics handle the Techno Room with BOF, Devious, H, ESF, CoreE, and Lissie. Faze One curate the House & Progressive Room with Bobby McKay, LickNTouch, Matty B, and Brent. Two distinct sounds under one roof — wander between rooms and find whatever your body needs on the night.

The Techno Room has an extra reason to celebrate: H turns 50. His birthday set is billed as a highlight of the night, and if the cake-and-candles photo on the flyer is anything to go by, the crew is making sure he gets a proper send-off into his fifth decade. Fifty years old and still on the lineup at a techno night — that’s a life well lived.

This is the second time Dance Floor Heretics and Faze One have joined forces at Cosmos Club, following the eXPEDITIONS and Mindshift events earlier in the year. The two crews cover different ends of the electronic music spectrum — DFH lean techno and harder-edged, Faze One sit in the progressive and melodic lane — which makes them natural collaborators for a multi-room event. You get two fully programmed experiences rather than one stretched-out lineup.

Free entry with a registered ticket is a model that more Adelaide promoters should be paying attention to. It removes the financial barrier completely while still giving the organisers a handle on numbers and capacity management. Register before the night, show up, walk in. Simple.
