Adelaide, SA — [For immediate release] — Three of Adelaide’s leading techno promoters — The Front Room, Simply Techno, and Dance Floor Heretics — have joined forces for Tales of Techno, a one-off nine-hour session at TIA LIVE on Hindley Street featuring two heavyweight international headliners: CJ Bolland (UK/Belgium) and Thomas Schumacher (Germany). Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8pm to 5am. Tickets are on sale now via Humanitix.

This is a rare collaboration between three crews who normally run their own lanes. The fact that Front Room, Simply Techno, and Dance Floor Heretics are all on the same bill tells you something about the calibre of what they’re putting together. Born, as they put it, in the warehouses of Adelaide, Germany, and the UK — and landing at TIA LIVE for one night only.

CJ Bolland is a foundational figure in European techno. Born in Stockton-on-Tees in 1971 and raised in Antwerp, he was one of the first artists signed to the legendary Belgian label R&S Records. His 1991 track “Horsepower” from the Ravesignal III EP made him one of the biggest names in the global rave community virtually overnight. Through the 90s he produced and remixed for Orbital, The Prodigy, Sven Väth, and Joey Beltram, released the critically acclaimed album The Analogue Theatre in 1996, and gave the world “Sugar Is Sweeter” — a track that crossed over from underground techno to mainstream dancefloors worldwide. He founded his own label Mole Records in 2002 and has continued releasing and performing ever since. For anyone who was around Adelaide’s rave scene in the 90s, this is a name that needs absolutely no introduction.

Thomas Schumacher has been a Berlin institution since 1989. A producer, DJ, and founder of the Electric Ballroom label, he’s one of the longest-serving artists in techno and currently holds the title of Beatport’s #1 best-selling Hype Techno artist. His sets are known for being energetic, modern, and relentlessly physical — the kind of techno that hits different at 2am on a concrete floor. Three decades deep and still shaping the sound for new generations of ravers.

Local support comes from four selectors who know what a room like this demands: S4T, BOF, Solace, and Floating Castle.

“Take yourself back to the heyday of the 90s rave scene,” said the organisers. “Now think about what you miss the most. All of it? That’s what we thought. Join us as we create new sounds with the grand old days of hedonistic bliss in mind.”

Nine hours, two international legends, four local heavyweights, one room on Hindley Street. If you’ve been paying attention to what Front Room, Simply Techno, and Dance Floor Heretics have been building in Adelaide over the past year, this is the moment all three threads come together.
