DJ S4T: Adelaide’s Underground Double Threat

In a scene that often rewards specialisation, Susie Dangov — better known as DJ S4T — has carved out something rare: genuine credibility across two of electronic music’s most demanding genres. Operating out of Adelaide’s Kaurna country for over a decade, she’s become one of the city’s most essential underground figures, equally at home behind the decks for a relentless techno marathon as she is threading together liquid drum & bass sets dripping with melody and soul.

The name itself tells you everything about the approach. S4T stands for “Scouting 4 Tunes” — a crate-digger’s manifesto baked right into the brand. Her techno draws a direct line from the hypnotic, mechanical precision of Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills through to the modern punch of Charlotte de Witte, while her DnB work leans into rolling, emotive territory that prioritises groove over aggression. It’s a dancefloor-first philosophy, and it works.

Beyond the decks, S4T is actively shaping the infrastructure of Adelaide’s underground through Simply Techno, her event series that launched at The Austral in September 2025. The concept is simple but vital: unite old and new school sounds while giving local talent a proper platform. By its second instalment in December, Simply Techno had already built a loyal following and a roster of Adelaide “Techno Soldiers” including Drew, Yax, Lucky Jnr, and Jorge Watts.

Her momentum shows no sign of slowing. A Bali beach festival appearance in late 2025 signalled international reach, while bookings at Adelaide staples like Ancient World and Winston’s keep her rooted in the local community. With livestream appearances on Dance Floor Heretics and a steady flow of recorded sets on SoundCloud, S4T is making Adelaide’s underground accessible without ever compromising its edge.

One to watch — and one to dance to.
