A private house in the city
A house party on Christmas night, and the first of Continuous Flow’s four invite-only events. The card billed it as a Christmas party, pool warming party and house warming party, starting at 9pm, and reminded guests not to forget presents.

The second invite-only event, billed as an intimate night of happy music and the beginning of a new future. 800 invitations went out for 300 presold tickets at $7, sold by Paul and Nathan and through Core Magazine. Doors opened at 10pm, with entry through a private door off the market walkway.

Horse & Plough Farm, Treutler Road, near Wistow

The third invite-only event, out in the Adelaide foothills. Tickets were $13, sold in person, and a printed map led guests down the farm driveway past the dam. The invite printed each DJ’s first name, with their DJ name faintly behind it.

A special birthday event for Tristan Mason (RIP). Venus was open from 8pm with free beer and champagne, and entry was the normal $2 before 11pm. The invitation card carried a row of Continuous Flow logos.

The fourth invite-only event, announced to Smile guests with the line “new crew, new venue, new vinyl”. Flip released his first 12 inch EP, with advance copies of his Dolphin Safe vinyl on sale for $10, and his live set was recorded for the CD Continuous Flow presents Flip Live at Labyrinth, including MC Tim and his new track Labyrinth. Tickets were $10 plus booking fee from Central Station Records, strictly with the invitation. Smoke fluid was sponsored by Power Kloud.

Farewell, The Ultimate Grand Prix Rave

Presented by Ultraworld, Continuous Flow and Resident Productions on Grand Prix weekend. The venue was licensed for 1200 people and had three main dance arenas, outdoor areas with river views, an in-house cinema and laser dancers. BenFX ran the lighting. Tickets were $22 for students, $26 in advance and $30 on the night.

The retro rave for ’96, bringing back the days of Origin, Fascination, Vision, Inquest and We Are The Future, and clubs like Metro, Le Rox and The Ark. 1500 invitations went out for 1000 tickets at $10 from Central Station Records, and the venue was only revealed once you had a ticket. Doors opened at 9pm, 18 plus with ID. It also started the concept that became Anthems, where it is listed as Anthems Event #96.07.

Continuous Flow loves the Moose. An intimate night for friends of Continuous Flow, with only 375 tickets at $20 from Central Station, running 9pm to 5am, over 18s only. Every ticket came with a free friends of continuous flow keyring, and the promotion ran under the line “got to love the moose”.

The Flip Live at Labyrinth CD was free to everyone who came, and Continuous Flow planned to record its second CD on the night with Phase live.

After Happyness, Nathan ran Continuous Flow on his own while Paul went on to Anthems.
