Anthems @ Arkaba, Adelaide (26/08/05)
Reported on 29/08/05 by Buph

The vaults of a bygone era were once again reopened on Friday 26 August 2005, as the Ark was reborn again, pumping out yet another night full of old school anthems. Arriving early in the evening with high expectations of the night, I was quickly re-assured that my feelings were right and that I would not be disappointed. With the night being sold out, I could already tell it was going to be a night to remember... and it was.

The Ark was pumping very early on due to the musical talent of the local legend Andy J. Classic upon classic were dished out to the hungry crowd as Andy played a stormer of a set, and the party people were definitely up for it. Even though there were a few minor equipment problems during his set, it was not enough to spoil this crowd’s night. As the night progressed so did the old school, next up were DJs Devious and MPK. Teamed up as a dynamic duo they helped warm up the night with their different styles blending together to become one, and one hell of an evening. The crowd was pumped and ready to take a step back through the journey of classics from yesteryear, and this forceful duo did not disappoint them. At this stage it did not look like the tunes could get any better, but they did. As the infamous father of the Ark DJ Brendon stepped up and blew the roof of the place with his awesome set. This would have to be one of my favorites for the night, as I was pumping on the floor with the masses, everyone enjoying this awesome event. After Brendon came the old school ring in, DJ Noddy, who gave the crowd just what they wanted, a dose of harder old school anthems, paving the way for the old school hardcore master H-Bomb to finish off the night. Mr. S teamed up with the Bomb was the final ingredient to seal the deal on the mind blowing party recipe, relived by all at the Arkaba, yet again.
With great drink specials, the nostalgia, the awesome line up, and the sell out event. Its no wonder the Ark maintains the reputation as being the best old school location on the map!!

Big ups to the anthems crew for putting on a wicked night once again.
